Am Nachmittag des 3. Dezember 2010 rückten in Asbury Park, NJ Dutzende Techniker an, um im altehrwürdigen “Carousel House” an der Ocean Avenue Kabel zu verlegen und Leuchten zu montieren. Am gleichen Tag wurde bekannt, dass Bruce Springsteen für seine treuen Fans ein Konzert spielen wird.
 
Am 7. Dezember 2010 durften sich knapp 150 Fans über ein einmaliges Konzerterlebnis freuen. Bruce Springsteen gab mit der E Street Band einige Songs aus dem im November 2010 veröffentlichten Album “The Promise” zum Besten.
 
"The Promise: Darkness on the Edge of Town Story" enthält das remasterte Album aus dem Jahre 1978, 21 unveröffentlichte Songs, ein 80seitiges Booklet, den Thom Zimny Dokumentarfilm "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town” und Livematerial aus den Jahren 2009 und 1976 bis 1978. Die Box erschien am 12. November 2010 in Deutschland (USA: 16. November 2010).

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed a rare concert event last week in Asbury Park, New Jersey’s historic Carousel House, playing never-before performed songs live from the new 2-CD set, ‘The Promise.’ Beginning today, five songs from the show will stream online, with North American viewers able to tune in exclusively across VEVO platforms, including VEVO.com starting at 10am EST. The concert will be available on VEVO until January 1. See below for a complete list of international streams.

Filmed before an audience of approximately sixty fans, “Songs From The Promise” was directed and edited by Grammy- and Emmy-winning filmmaker Thom Zimny and mixed by Emmy-winner Bob Clearmountain. The concert features the world premiere E Street Band performances of four tracks from ‘The Promise,’ plus “Blue Christmas.”

For this one-time concert event, Springsteen and members of the E Street Band lineup—Clarence Clemons, Stevie Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, Roy Bittan, and Gary Tallent—were joined by keyboardist Charles Giordano, a full horn section—Ed Manion, Barry Danielian, Curt Ramm, Clark Gayton and Stan Harrison—and special guest David Lindley, who played violin during the original recording sessions.
